The Magic Beans tap a vast pool of influences from Khruangbin to Timbaland in “Evil Eye.” Inspired by the coy look while locking eyes with a potential love interest dancing across the room, the track blends lush downtempo melodies with a rhythmic breakbeat that is perfect for both belly dancing and putting the audience in a trance. Longtime admirers of Eddie Roberts’ production work, “Evil Eye” is the first of three tracks to be released by The Magic Beans on Color Red throughout 2020.
